RISE

RISE is an after school program Monday through Tuesday 3:30pm to 6:30pm, geared for children 10 to 18 years of age who have a talent in music who are looking to stretch and develop their creativity in their gift.

SUMMER Program

This program is Tuesday's - Wednesday's 1pm to 4pm. It's geared for ages 9 - 30 who have an interest in stretching and developing their creativity in their musical and artistic gifts with others over the summer.

VerLyn Music Preparatory Program is a subsidiary of its parent company VerLn Music Inc. which was founded by President/ CEO/ Director and Co-founder Vernon R. Messam Sr. and Vice President/ Director and Co-founder Felice L. Messam.

President/ CEO/ Director and Co-founder:

Vernon Messam - an extraordinary man with a brilliant musical mind.

Born and raised in Boston Massachusetts, He was awarded a full four–year scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where he majored in Music Production and Engineering and where he met his wife, Felice.

Vernon is a renowned (Dove Award Nominated Producer), producer, engineer, composer/arranger, songwriter and a phenomenally skilled musician. Known for his quiet and pleasant demeanor, Vernon has been noted to many as a quiet storm. a true lover of music,

Vernon has MD (Music Director), played keyboards, traveled the world, arranged, recoreded and produced for an array of major and indie (Stella Award winners and Grammy award nominated) artists.

Vice President/ Director and Co-founder:

Felice Messam - (Born in PA) has an outgoing personality, a great sense of humor and a strong captivating voice. Felice is known for the intricate harmony in her vocal arrangements, She’s a renowned vocal coach, arranger, singer, songwriter, producer, and actress.

Felice was awarded “The Best Award” scholarships to Berklee College of Music where She majored in Music Business. She has arranged, sung and recorded background vocals for Stella Award winners and Grammy award nominated artists. Felice has won a Gospel Choice Award for “Best New Artist” for her album “Break Out” Produced by her husband Vernon, an album that has uplifted, motivated, and inspired thousands of people to “Break Out” and fulfill the will of God in their lives.

Through both of Vernon and Felice's many accomplishments in music, their achievements qualified them as voting members of The Recording Academy (Grammys).

They believe in the principle that the best way to prepare students and young adults for a career in music is through the thorough study and practice of different genres of yesterday and today’s music to create tomorrows music with creative integrity.

Mission

The purpose and mission of VerLyn Music Preparatory Program is to provide opportunity for youth and adults to explore, cultivate and maximize their musical talent through private and group music instruction, as well as create employment opportunities in the city of Atlanta and throughout the state of Georgia.

We are committed to building and developing the musicianship of all our students and preparing them to excel in music as a career!
